Anthropology

The forensic anthropologist specializes in human skeletal remains. The medical examiner may consult the forensic anthropologist in situations where the remains are unknown or the mechanism of death is not easily discerned because of decomposition of the remains.

We have facilities for on-site anthropological analysis. When additional analyses are required, material may be transferred to a full-service forensic anthropology facility.

The forensic anthropologist provides hands-on training for the fellows and residents and lectures in several annual courses organized by the Medical Examiner.

The anthropologist may also consult with police and with other law enforcement agencies.
