Airport West is the site currently recommended by the Miami-Dade County administration. The Board of County Commissioners will vote on this recommendation.
The County’s proposal entails developing roughly 180 acres of the total site. The site is accessible within a 10-minute drive to US-27 or Florida’s Turnpike.
The existing solid waste Resource Recovery Facility (RRF) in Doral is one of the four locations under consideration for a future waste-to-energy facility at the Solid Waste Campus
The Medley site is comprised of multiple, privately-owned, parcels and offers ample space to accommodate alternative facilities based on spatial constraints.
The Okeechobee site is comprised of approximately 65 privately-owned acres and includes a land-swap offer to the County. It is located east of US-27/Okeechobee Road, between NW 178th Street and NW 182nd Street.
