About Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera
Commissioner Cabrera serves as Vice Chair of the International Trade Consortium and the Community Safety, Security, and Emergency Management Committee. Additionally, he serves on the following committees: Airport and Economic Development Committee, Community Health Committee, Biscayne Bay Commission, and the Miami-Dade Biscayne Bay Watershed Management Advisory Board.
Prior to entering public service, Commissioner Cabrera led the Republican National Committee and President Donald J. Trump’s re-election campaign in Florida as State Director.
Commissioner Cabrera has experience advocating for our community at the federal, state, and local levels of government. He served as Director of Constituent Services for a Member of the United States House of Representatives and oversaw political initiatives at the federal, state, and local levels.
As an active member of our community, in 2015 Commissioner Cabrera was appointed Councilman for West Kendall’s Community Council, a local land use and zoning board in Miami-Dade County. He was subsequently elected to a full term unopposed in 2016.
Commissioner Cabrera understands that the government closest to the people governs best and is fighting to protect the community's most vulnerable members, cut local taxes and fees, keep our streets safe, and protect our constitutional rights and individual freedoms from government overreach.
Commissioner Cabrera was born in Miami to Cuban exiles. He studied at South Miami Senior High School and graduated with honors from Miami Dade College. Commissioner Cabrera holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida International University, where he graduated cum laude.
