Staff Biographies

• Olga Vega

  In her role as Executive Director of BCC Media, Olga oversees communications and media relations for the Board of County Commissioners and the Offices under their purview.
  
  With more than two decades of journalism and communications experience, Olga brings a wealth of knowledge to BCC Media. Before becoming Executive Director, she served as the Communications Director for Miami-Dade County’s District 12.
  
  Prior to her career with Miami-Dade County, she worked as an Assignment Editor for WSVN-Ch. 7 and WPLG-Ch. 10. She was also the Media and Communications Coordinator for the Archdiocese of Miami and the Marketing and Events Coordinator for Gulfstream Park.
  
  Olga obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism from Columbia College in Chicago.

  Prior to joining BCC Media, Kendra worked at the University of Miami and a local healthcare organization, where her multifaceted career included experience in administration, communications, and programs and events. Before moving to Miami, she was a copy editor for a newspaper in North Carolina.
  
  Kendra obtained her Bachelor of Science in Communications and Bachelor of Science in Political Science from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

  Natalia Hernandez specializes in communications and marketing with years of experience at the City of Sweetwater as the Public Information Officer. While at the City, Hernandez was responsible for informing the public by creating content both in English and Spanish using resourcefulness and creative thinking.
  
  Prior to working in local government, Hernandez spent nearly three years working as an Assignment Editor for WSVN-Ch. 7 overseeing breaking news.
  
  Natalia Hernandez graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in marketing from the University of Central Florida. She recently received her master’s degree in Global Strategic Communications from Florida International University.

• Eugene Savitsky

  Eugene Savitsky is a digital media specialist with over five years of professional experience in both media production and communications. He brings to the Board of County Commissioners a broad knowledge of audio-visual production, graphic design, and social media management; having worked previously as a social media specialist at Miami-Dade Animal Services Department. He has also worked on productions for Oxygen Network, National Geographic and ESPN/ACCN Networks. 

   

  A Florida State University Graduate, with a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Digital Media Studies, Eugene was a student member of Seminole Productions, which was responsible for broadcasting Florida State Seminoles Athletics’ games to ESPN/ACCN Networks. He also produced and edited special interest packages on players and coaches during the season, which were aired on broadcast and social media.
