Inson Kim - Director
In her current role as Director, Ms. Kim provides strategic vision for the department, which includes the 311 Contact Center Operations Division and the Business and Creative Services Division, which is comprised of the Digital Media Services, Digital Communications, Engagement and Client Services, Branding and Creative Services, and Administrative Services units. Her staff manages the County’s channels to communicate government information and promote programs and services to both internal and external customers.
Through her leadership, the department has achieved multiple milestones, including being awarded the Overall Customer Experience Award by the Center for Digital Government. This award recognizes governments that improve the digital user experience of government and service delivery. The department has also earned multiple awards for integrated digital marketing campaigns created for several County departments. Her department continues to ensure the accessibility of all of the County’s programs and services.
In November of 2014, Ms. Kim was promoted to Director of Intergovernmental and External Affairs in the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER). In this capacity, she was responsible for all legislative and intergovernmental activities as well as the department’s internal and external communications.
Prior to joining RER, Ms. Kim was the Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs for the Office of the Mayor. In addition to supervising policy and legislative affairs, she oversaw matters related to the County's Intergovernmental Affairs, Charter Review, Agenda Office, Agenda Coordination, Property Appraiser, Commission Auditor, Commission on Ethics and Public Trust and the Inspector General.
Ms. Kim also served as the primary liaison with the administration’s senior leadership team and all County departments, while working closely with the Director of Communications and Chief of Staff. In 2012, Ms. Kim served as the point person during the Charter Review Task Force process.
From 2005 through 2011, Ms. Kim was Senior Policy Analyst and Commission Aide for then-District 7 County Commissioner Gimenez. She analyzed and evaluated agenda items and legislative issues, initiated policies, worked with local and national media, and served as liaison between the Commissioner and constituents, among other duties.
Ms. Kim began her career in the Miami-Dade Aviation Department as a Public Information Officer. She managed the redesign of Miami International Airport's (MIA) website and worked with local and national news outlets in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. She was then promoted to Advertising and Promotions Coordinator overseeing the development and implementation of promotional campaigns for MIA.
In addition, Ms. Kim was Assistant Editor at Mass Media Enterprises, where she coordinated the editorial and production for three monthly community newspapers.
Ms. Kim holds a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.
