Juvenile Alternative Services Sanctions (JASS)
The JASS diversion program provides the following services if you have committed a first-time misdemeanor:
An evidence-based assessment that provides the identification of service needs
Referrals to:
Psycho-educational groups
Substance abuse counseling
Individual and family counseling
Case Management
Victim and offender mediation
Restitution coordination
Community service
Monitoring educational goals
You will participate in the program for approximately 90 to 120 days.
If you need transportation, a Transit Pass may be given to you free of charge (restrictions apply).
If you fail to complete the program, your case will be referred to the State Attorney's Office for judicial review.
Eligibility:
You must be 17 years of age or under.
Frst-time misdemeanors (restrictions apply).
First-time felonies (restrictions apply).
All cases are approved by the State Attorney.
Juvenile Delinquency Alternative Program (J-DAP)
The JDAP diversion program gives at-risk youth an alternative to formal court involvement and management.
You and your family can get help with issues in school performance, and family or substance abuse.
The JDAP diversion program provides the following services:
An evidence-based assessment that provides the basis for treatment services
Referrals to:
Psycho-educational groups
Substance abuse counseling
Individual and family counseling
Case Management
Victim and offender meditation
Restitution coordination
Community service
Monitoring educational goals
You will attend the program for approximately 3-6 months.
If you need transportation, a Transit Pass may be given to you free of charge (restrictions apply).
If you fail to complete the program, your case will be referred to the State Attorney's Office for judicial review.
Eligibility:
You must be 17 years of age or under
You must live in Miami-Dade County
The program only covers:
First-time felonies (restrctions apply)
First-time misdemeanors
All cases are approved by the State Attorney
