Bannerman Pool to unveil the transformative Zero Drownings Miami-Dade initiative. <p>On Tuesday, July 9th at 10 a.m., a collaborative group of Miami-Dade County&rsquo;s top public and private sector organizations will hold a press conference at Marva Y. Bannerman Pool to unveil the transformative Zero Drownings Miami-Dade initiative.</p> <p>Drownings have become the leading cause of death in Miami-Dade County for children ages one to nine, but studies show that participation in formal swim lessons can reduce that risk by 88%.&nbsp;</p> <p>Zero Drownings Miami is a new innovative water safety program that will transform drowning prevention education throughout the county by investing in year-round, continuous swim lessons for those that need it the most.
