Make a shelter pet's home for the holidays wish come true

Adopt or foster a pet this season. As we embrace the season of giving, Miami-Dade Animal Services is thrilled to bring back our beloved Home for the Holidays campaign. It's a special opportunity to provide a shelter pet with the loving home they deserve.

We invite residents to experience the lifelong joy of pet ownership by adopting a shelter pet this holiday season.

From now until December 31, 2024, we are waiving adoption fees for dogs and cats four months and older at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center, Medley Shelter and our satellite adoption centers:

• Puppies: $85
• Kittens: $35
• Adoption includes: First set of age-appropriate vaccines, microchip, deworming, and spay/neuter surgery. Please note, that adopters are responsible for a $30 dog licensing fee

If adopting isn’t an option for you right now, consider becoming a holiday foster. By providing a temporary home, you can help a shelter pet spend the season with a loving family. Animal Services will supply all the necessary materials to care for your holiday foster pet. All you need is an open heart, a loving home, and an extra seat at the table.

All pet adoptions include the first set of age-appropriate vaccines, microchip, deworming and spay/neuter surgery. Adoption hours at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
