Bring in your unused medications during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
The Miami-Dade Police Department is participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration's National Take-Back Initiative.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
You can bring in unwanted medications to district stations throughout our County on October 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you are unable to make it to this event and have medications you would like to dispose of please follow these disposal tips:
Dispose with household garbage
- Keep medicine in original container and cross out your name and prescription number
- Add water or soda to dissolve pills; Add something inedible to prevent ingestion of liquids
- Secure the container with tape, place it in a larger bottle or container, seal it, then throw it in the trash
- Do not flush expired or unwanted medication down the toilet or drain
