With an eye for innovation and strategic vision, Ana Chammas has helped advance tech strategy and the organizational transformation that drive the customer experience in Miami-Dade. By cultivating innovation, culture change and digital competencies, she has the vision for what a FutureReady government needs to make community impact.
With over 20 years in the field, Ana bridges gaps between creative and development teams, business users, and C-level executives to provide effective, customer-centric solutions. Her experience includes directing the functions and programs related to the County's information channels (miamidade.gov, 311 Answer Center, and Miami-Dade Television) as well as the development of civic engagement and customer service strategy. Ana has cultivated long-standing relationships with public and private partners tackling a municipal-wide open data platform, building a cross-municipal strategic alliance as well as the County Innovation Program.
Most recently, Ana is working within the Office of the CIO to drive Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s initiatives that will change government culture focused on central priority tenets coined “the 4 Es.” The program will drive the Economy, protect the Environment, enable Engagement within the community, and ensure Equity and inclusive opportunities. As the Director of Innovation in the County, Ana is working to create intersections across verticals in the industry partnering with academic institutions to build the foundational learning and experiential opportunities to expand our local talent pipelines. She is also focused on scaling business solutions and innovation, driving inclusive Smart City tech, and working tirelessly to disrupt the status quo in government.
