A historic investment tackling the housing affordability crisis
The HOMES Plan – a component of the Mayor’s multi-year Building Blocks Program – includes a full suite of programs to provide relief to residents across our community, from extremely low to middle-income residents. The plan provides relief to homeowners and renters and creates more housing people can afford by bringing new units online in the short term, building new units, and preserving and enhancing existing affordable housing.
Families across income levels are suffering under the housing and affordability crisis. That’s why the HOMES Plan is a comprehensive approach designed to bring targeted relief and supplement our other housing investments – including our combined goal of 18,000 units of affordable and workforce housing in financial closing by the end of 2023.
Our Programs
The program is now closed.
Designed to assist condominium owners in addressing and paying for special assessment requirements that arise from rehabilitation and repairs due to applicable building integrity recertification requirements.
Designed to support affordable housing projects delayed due to supply chain issues, where a small infusion of additional capital can help move projects to completion.
Struggling homeowners behind on their mortgage, homeowners' insurance, HOA fees, and/or utility payments can apply for relief payments of up to $1,500.
This program provides support to builders to repair and renovate rental housing at-risk of redevelopment or deterioration.
Low-income homeowners can make their homes energy efficient through the installation of cost-saving measures.
This pilot program works with landlords to provide quality affordable and workforce housing.
