Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins

Danielle Cohen Higgins was elected to represent District 8 on the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners on August 23, 2022. She was originally appointed to the office on December 7, 2020. Commissioner Cohen Higgins currently serves as Chairwoman of the Airport Committee, and Vice Chairwoman of the Appropriations Committee. She also serves on the Infrastructure, Innovation and Technology Committee, Port and Resiliency Committee and the Government Efficiency and Transparency Ad Hoc Committee. Commissioner Cohen Higgins is a member of the State’s Biscayne Bay Commission.

The Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners recently approved a resolution sponsored by Commissioner Cohen Higgins to co-designate a portion of Southwest 162nd Avenue, from Southwest 232nd Street to Southwest 240th Street on Friday, June 5 at 10 a.m., as “Jimmy Ryce Avenue.”
