Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance
The FBHA's goal is to provide behavioral health workshops to fire departments, EMS and Dispatch organizations across the globe, focusing on behavioral health awareness with a strong emphasis towards suicide prevention and promoting resources available to firefighters/EMS/Dispatch and their families.
The Florida Firefighters Safety & Health
The Florida Firefighters Safety & Health Collaborative is a FREE Program to Fire Departments looking to enhance, and maintain an effective Safety Committee and/or Safety Program.
International Association of Fire Fighters
The IAFF Online Behavioral Health Awareness course is a free introductory course that provides an overview of common behavioral health problems that impact fire service personnel. The course is available to anyone, regardless of IAFF membership or participation in a Peer Support Training.
Redline Rescue
Red Line Rescue's website can provide a trained Peer Support or licensed clinician who is culturally competent with working with first responders. Redline Rescue is dedicated to the mission of serving firefighters and their families in times of need. Redline Rescue is a community of firefighters and professionals committed to serving those who serve tirelessly.
UCF Restores
The UCF Restores is a nonprofit clinical research center and treatment clinic established to change the way post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related concerns are understood, diagnosed and treated.
Disaster Responder Training
Mental Health First Aid
This training is recommended for all personnel who may have contact with survivors or other disaster responders.
Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based education program that provides training on de-escalation of crisis situations, recognizing signs of mental health challenges and substance use, and referring individuals to the appropriate services in the community. Training is provided through a certified trainer via online self-study and Zoom class instruction. Contact local instructor to arrange a class. There may be fees associated with this training.
Psychological First Aid (PFA) Online
This online self-paced training is recommended for all personnel who may have contact with survivors or other disaster responders. Psychological First Aid is an evidence-informed modular approach to help children, adolescents, adults, and families in the immediate aftermath of disaster and terrorism. Individuals affected by a disaster or traumatic incident, whether survivors, witnesses or responders to such events, may struggle with or face new challenges following the event. PFA was developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and the National Center for PTSD, with contributions from individuals involved in disaster research and response.
SAMHSA Online Disaster Technical Assistance Center Training Courses
Free online training courses to assist in improving awareness and understanding of the behavioral health effects of disasters and emergency response.
Mobile Apps
Psychological First Aid
Review PFA guidelines and assess readiness to deliver PFA in the field. The app provides additional support when the responder is in the field by providing tips on different survivor groups (infant/toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, adult) and keeping track of survivor concerns and referral needs.
SAMHSA Disaster Mobile
This free app offers first responders immediate access for any type of traumatic event at every phase of response, including pre-deployment preparation, on-the-ground assistance, and post-deployment resources.
