Miami-Dade County officials to hold press conference as Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Task Force deploys ahead of Hurricane Milton

As members of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s (MDFR) Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Florida Task Force One (FL-TF1) team deploy to hurricane-stricken areas ahead of Hurricane Milton, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, members of the Board of County Commissioners, and the Miami-Dade County Department of Emergency Management will host a press conference to provide details on the coordinated efforts with state and federal agencies to prepare and respond to Hurricane Milton. 
 
Deployed as a Type I US&R task force, FL-TF1 will assist other local and state agencies with hurricane relief efforts in affected areas of the Florida peninsula, as well as provide critical support, including search and rescue operations, infrastructure assessments, and relief distribution. 

As the County continues to closely monitor Hurricane Milton, the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activated at a Level 2 partial activation status to continue to coordinate preparation and mitigation efforts.
