Commissioner Eileen Higgins Announces 2025 Small Business Week Calendar of Events

MIAMI-DADE – In celebration of National Small Business Week (May 5 - May 9, 2025), Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins is proud to announce a week of events dedicated to supporting and elevating small businesses across District 5. From workshops, webinars, and networking breakfasts, entrepreneurs will have multiple opportunities to learn, connect, and grow.

"Small businesses are the heart of District 5. They create jobs, shape the unique character of our neighborhoods, and drive our economy forward," said Commissioner Eileen Higgins. "Small Business Week is all about bringing our entrepreneurs together for a week full of knowledge, resources, access to funding, and networking. It’s a celebration of everything they’ve worked so hard to build and build momentum for the year ahead."

This year’s calendar is part of Commissioner Higgins' broader Elevate District 5 initiative, which utilizes both data and feedback to create, leverage, and expand resources to support and strengthen small businesses in District 5. The goal of Elevate District 5 is to foster a lasting, supportive environment for local entrepreneurs by filling technology gaps at all levels and providing skills, training, and expanding access to capital. Through these efforts, Commissioner Eileen Higgins aims to spur growth, build stronger businesses, and better understand the evolving needs of our small business community.
