Chairman Gilbert begins roundtable series to engage with key groups in the community

MIAMI-DADE – Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III, in partnership with the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, presented a business roundtable as part of the new Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III Roundtable Series initiative on Wednesday, April 19 at the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, 80 SW 8th St., Unit 2400, Miami, FL 33130.

This business roundtable initiative was the first in a series of monthly discussions by Chairman Gilbert. Each month, the Roundtable Series will focus on a key group, such as business professionals, faith-based groups, or community-based organizations (CBOs), to bring government representation closer to the people and connect with as many residents as possible. April’s roundtable focused on the business community and provided business professionals the opportunity to engage with one another and Chairman Gilbert., The Miami-Dade Beacon Council’s President and Chief Executive Officer Rodrick Miller joined Chairman Gilbert for the discussion. “Better governance comes from listening to people. We are creating an environment to listen to and discuss the needs of these groups that are the pillars of the community. Through these ideas, we can help grow the community forward and create a better Miami-Dade County,” said Chairman Gilbert. Participants had the opportunity to discuss a wide array of topics with Chairman Gilbert, including septic to sewer conversion, economic development, property insurance, infrastructure, and mass transit.
